Quick note from me (SteelSpine):

The Devs ONCE AGAIN cancelled this week’s LiveStream.  Instead, they premiered a short “Dev Update” video on YouTube and posted this week’s Event Info on the Official Blog.  Their excuse this week was that COVID-19 (the Coronavirus) is preventing them from doing a Stream for the next FEW WEEKS - which is ridiculous, since they’ve been regularly cancelling Streams for a while now.  Seems like they have been looking for an excuse to stop these Streams for months, and Coronavirus is giving it to them.  (If the Devs truly give a damn about the players, there is NO WAY they can’t figure out how to take turns doing a solo LiveStream OR a Reddit “AMA” from home once per week - even if it’s just to answer a handful of questions).

I do my best to remain neutral, impartial and fair in these Recaps, but this is getting to be too much.  By cancelling the Stream over and over again, it denies the playerbase the opportunity to ask questions, see the new Titan and Relics in action (in real time, without being favorably edited) and bring in-game issues to the attention of the people who matter.  This is COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE, and I really hope the Devs stop doing it.  Without a weekly opportunity to interact with the Developers, I fear that this game will suffer a quick death.  

This week’s Event is the most anticipated in the past six months.  In addition, there are serious issues in-game that need to be addressed - and we need answers regarding the new and upcoming features (Shards, Troop Meta Update, new 5* Relics, new Divine Altars, etc).  We all know how awful the in-game Support is - without a regular LiveStream, we’ll never get answers.

DEVS:  BRING BACK WEEKLY INTERACTIONS WITH YOUR PLAYERS.  You guys are brilliant.  FIND A WAY.

EVENT DETAILS:

This week’s Event will be called FEAR AND FORTUNE.  It will begin on THURSDAY, MARCH 12 and run until MONDAY, MARCH 16.

Titan Details:

This week’s Event features the long-awaited debut of BABA YAGA, the Void Champion.  BABA YAGA was the winning design from last year’s “Design A Titan” contest, submitted by the player named TALON WARLOCK.  She features two “INVOKE” Skills, which appear to be the new Skill type that has been teased lately.  INVOKE Skills imbue some of your Troops with special properties when certain conditions are met (in the case of Baba Yaga, she grants extra Horde Damage and AP when you cast Raise Dead Spells - see below for info).

BABA YAGA’s SKILLS:

Slot 1 (INVOKE: Dark Command):  +180% Titan Damage, +300% Raise Dead Skeleton Damage, On each Raise Dead cast increase Horde Damage +25% (SEE BELOW)

Slot 2 (Baba Yaga’s Hatred X):  +88% Titan Armor Piercing, +176% Horde Armor, +1 Raise Dead Spell

Slot 3 (Baba Yaga’s Magic X):  +117% Titan Health, +234% Horde Health, +1 Raise Dead Spell

Slot 4 (Baba Yaga’s Resilience X):  +72% Horde Critical, +72% Raise Dead Critical, +2 Raise Dead Spells

Slot 5 (INVOKE: Bone Shards):  +30% Titan Melee Resist, +30% Horde Melee Resist, On each Raise Dead cast increase Horde Armor Piercing +25% (SEE BELOW)

(NOTE:  If the Skills in Slot 1 and 5 are confusing, think of it this way:  Each time you cast a RAISE DEAD Spell with a Level 1+ Baba Yaga, your Horde Troops will receive an additional +25% Damage.  In addition, once your Baba Yaga reaches Level 51 your Horde Troops will also receive an additional +25% Armor Piercing for each cast of a RAISE DEAD Spell).

BABA YAGA will be available for 20k Souls.

TEASERS and OTHER INFORMATION:

NEW GOD TITANS are on their way.  These new Titans will have “INVOKE Skills”, similar to Baba Yaga, which according to the Devs will grant “wide-ranging abilities that change battles like never before”.

New content and new Altars are on their way to the Divine Shrine.  The changes should begin “in a couple of weeks”, but it may be a slow rollout (new Altars first, followed by changes to the old Altars, or something like that).

NEW UPCOMING EVENT TYPE:  The much-hyped new Event type (which will make its debut in DoT “very soon”) will be a “Raid Boss style mode”.  Essentially, players will get together with their Alliance mates to attack a “big boss”, for equally “big rewards”.  (Note from SteelSpine:  This sounds like it could potentially be a LOT of fun, especially for very active Alliances!  Something like this could give a much-needed boost to the social interaction in the game, if done properly.  I’m really looking forward to seeing how it all plays out.  GREAT idea, Devs!).

NEXT TWO WEEKS:

MONDAY, 16 MARCH:  A RELIC FESTIVAL Temple Event called “Babushka’s Curse”.  (10% discount on “Cursed Relics” from the Epic Relic Altar).

TUESDAY, 17 MARCH to THURSDAY, 19 MARCH:  A SOLO/INDIVIDUAL RELIC LEADERBOARD Event.  This one will be called “The Art of Archery”, and will feature the return of the 4* WILD ARROWS and 4* FOREST BOW Relics.  Divine Gems will be available as Event Ranking Rewards.  In addition: ALL of your older, unused Boost Relics will work for this Event.

THURSDAY, 19 MARCH:  A “CHOOSE YOUR TITAN” Leaderboard Event begins, which has been given the name “Worlds Collide”.  Participating Players can earn two special Tokens; one will allow you to choose either THOR or LOKI, and the other will give you a choice between ANUBIS or MINOTAUR.  Greek and Egyptian Relics will be in the Event Milestone Rewards, and Baba Yaga will provide a 1.4x Soul Boost.

(NOTE:  There was also supposed to be some sort of a “lucky themed free gift bundle” this week for Saint Patrick’s Day - but this was NOT mentioned on the DoT Blog, so this is up in the air).

MONDAY, 23 MARCH to THURSDAY, 26 MARCH:  A CONQUEST EVENT will take place.  This Event will feature CHERNOBOG, the Ice Guardian (and former Divine Shrine Titan).

THURSDAY, 26 MARCH:  Another Leaderboard Event begins (presumably).

The Devs decided to CANCEL this week’s LiveStream, so there isn’t a whole lot to report.  Fortunately, they posted some Event Info on the Official DoT Blog - so I have collected everything that was posted there and transferred it into an easy-to-share format.

This week’s Event will be called RETURN TO OLYMPUS.  It will begin on THURSDAY, MARCH 5 and run until MONDAY, MARCH 9.

Titan Details:

This week’s Event features the return of ZEUS, the Lightning Ranger.  ZEUS has NOT been Re-Skilled for this Event.  (My apologies for incorrectly stating that the Devs didn’t say whether or not he would be Re-Skilled on last week’s Stream - the Devs confirmed last week that he would NOT have new Skills.  Thank you to everyone who brought the error to my attention - especially Dialon, who was first.  Sorry for the mistake, everyone!  I will do better in the future).

ZEUS’ SKILLS:

Slot 1:  +30% Lightning Titan, Troop and Spell Damage, +3 Lightning Storm Spells

TEASERS and OTHER INFORMATION:

Version 1.37 has gone LIVE for ALL players on both iOS and Android devices.  Below you will find information regarding what we can expect from v1.37 - including everything from last week’s Recap AND all of the new info that was posted on the official DoT blog.

v1.37 DETAILS:

NEW GODS:  Haig:  “The Shattered Kingdoms have reached an impasse.  The factions are at an imbalance, with many resorting to prayer and sacrifice in the hopes that new Gods will answer their cries for help.  Out in the furthest reaches of the universe, these cries have been heard.  Long forgotten deities stir.  War is coming.  Get ready to INVOKE the power of new gods - coming soon to alliance wars”.  (Haig stressed the words “war” and “invoke” during the February 26 Stream).

NEW DIVINE ALTAR TITANS - NECROSO and LIFESPARK.  They will have “powerful, dynamic abilities that can turn the tide of battle even in the most dire of circumstances”.

DIVINE ALTAR CHANGES:  Lots of changes coming to the DG Altars.  Haig said “the biggest complaint was having 3* Relics there - we THINK we have a plan to get rid of them”.

BABA YAGA arrives ON MARCH 12.

NEW ALLIANCE EVENT TYPE (coming sometime around or before early April):  “Face off against unique, formidable foes - and prepare yourself by joining a large, active Alliance”.

NEW 5* RELICS, which will have “interesting and unique effects”.

ASSAULT EVENT will return, with new maps and better Rewards.

CHANGES TO “QUICKMATCH BUTTON” - it should help you find “more appropriate opponents during Leaderboard Events”.

PLAYER LEVEL XP INCREASE:  The amount of Player XP gained from PVP battles will be doubled.  (Player Level is the number under your profile picture in the top left corner of your screen).

BUG FIXES:  A number of fixes for various bugs that cause crashes and freezes during loading and battle.  Fix for a crash that can occur when transitioning into the game after tapping on a “Push Notification” on iOS devices.  Fix for the “Profile Synchronization” issues when logging into multiple devices or new devices that share a Google Play or GameCenter Account.  More improvements to Cheater Detection/Prevention systems.

TROOP META CHANGES:  

ARCHERS (additional +10% to +20% Base Damage from L16-L25):  This change is to help Archers be more viable against Horde Troops.

GRENADIERS (additional +1% to +15% Base Critical from L11-L25):  This change will make it easier to max out the Critical Rate on your Grenadiers, thus freeing up more Relic slots and adding a bit more diversity in loadouts.

PANTHERS (additional +20% to +30% Base Health and Armor from L16-L25):  This change is intended to help Panthers be more viable on Defense again.

Interestingly, THERE WILL BE NO CHANGES TO HORDE TROOPS IN THIS UPDATE.

INTRODUCTION OF RELIC SHARDS IN THE TEMPLE:  There will be two new Altars:  “Shards” and “Epic Shards”.  Just like the Relic Shards that were previously only available in Assault Events, these unique Relics’ only use will be as “Forging Food” for Leveling up your Relics.  The reason they provide extra Relic Forging Experience is because they always drop at their maximum Level (2*s are always L5, 3*s 4*s and 5*s are always L10), so they give the same Forging XP as forging away a maxed out Relic of the same Rarity would.

RELIC SHARD DROP RATES (for the upcoming NEW Shard Altars):

SHARDS ALTAR:  

2* (Level Five, worth 1184 Forging XP)  — 75% Drop Rate

3* (Level Ten, worth 4000 Forging XP)  — 25% Drop Rate

EPIC SHARDS ALTAR:

3* (Level Ten, worth 4000 Forging XP)    —  45% Drop Rate

4* (Level Ten, worth 11400 Forging XP)   —  50% Drop Rate

5* (Level Ten, worth 29000 Forging XP)  —  5% Drop Rate

(NOTE:  For reference, a L1 4* Relic grants 3000 Forging XP).

NEXT TWO WEEKS:

MONDAY, 9 MARCH:  A TITANS UNLEASHED (Titan Fusion) Event, featuring Guardians in the Temple.

TUESDAY, 10 MARCH:  A “Greek style” THEATERS OF WAR Event.

WEDNESDAY, 11 MARCH:  DOT’s Fifth Anniversary celebration begins.  Players will receive “a Free Bundle or something like that”.

THURSDAY, 12 MARCH:  The BABA YAGA Event begins.  This was CONFIRMED on the DoT Blog on March 4.  NOTE:  Baba Yaga is based on TALON WARLOCK’s winning design from the “Design A Titan” contest.  She has been confirmed to be a Champion - but that’s really all we know about her, other than a handful of pictures of her holding a staff with a purpish glow.  The recently released Game Lore for Baba Yaga says, “BABA YAGA – totemic, supernatural ancestress – appears from the depths of the forest. Believed only to be myth in ancient Mossmane folklore, she represents the dark side of wisdom and the power of knowledge and intelligence in warfare” - so at this point it appears (to me) that she will either boost Panthers, Horde or some combination of the two.  The Devs have also teased that she will have “cool new skills”, and said they were “trying to do something interesting and new with her”.  More information will be available in next week’s LiveStream (and Recap), so be sure to check it out.  :-)

MONDAY, 16 MARCH:  A CONSTRUCTION FRENZY Event (discount on Building Upgrades).  (NOTE:  This was announced during the February 26 LiveStream, but it was NOT included in the Official DoT Blog Post - so plans may have changed).

MONDAY, 16 MARCH:  A RELIC FESTIVAL Temple Event called “CURSES”.  (NOTE:  The Devs previously said there would be a Relic Leaderboard Event on 17 March, featuring “some of the old Relics, like the 4* WILD ARROWS, that you guys have been asking for” - but if the Official DoT Blog is to be believed, plans have CHANGED and this is no longer the case.  There was also supposed to be some sort of a “lucky themed free gift bundle” for Saint Patrick’s Day - but this was NOT mentioned on the DoT Blog, so even though I still think it will happen it has NOT been reconfirmed).
