Welcome back, everyone! I’m sorry about the extended absence. This week we were graced with the first LiveStream since December 18, so this is the first Recap of 2020. I hope you all had a great Kwanzaa, Christmas, Hanukkah, Solstice, New Years and/or whatever other Holiday you may celebrate. :-)
Haig (Live Ops Manager) and Dom (Game Artist) were our hosts for this week’s LiveStream. Matt (Game Designer) is taking most of 2020 off, touring the world.

EVENT DETAILS:
This week’s Event will be called ANCIENT CHAMPIONS. It will begin on THURSDAY, JANUARY 16 and run until MONDAY, JANUARY 20. It features the return of LUBU (the Lightning Champion) and PIGSY (the Physical Champion). Both Titans have been given significant improvements to their Skills, compared to their original versions.
A little piece of Trivia for those who are interested: LUBU and PIGSY debuted during the same week last year as part of the 2019 Chinese New Year festivities. PIGSY (who was originally to be named Zhu Bajie) was offered in a mini-Event that ran from February 5 to 8, and LUBU was the Titan offered in the first-ever Conquest Event - which began immediately after the PIGSY Event ended on February 8.
LUBU’s new SKILLS:
Slot 1: +117% Titan Health, +188% Titan Armor, +3 Lightning Storm Spells
Slot 2: +180% Titan Damage, +180% Storm Maiden Damage
Slot 3: +44% Titan Critical, +40% Titan Melee Resist, +15 Bolts In Each Lightning Storm Spell
Slot 4: +88% Titan Armor Piercing, +88% Storm Maiden Armor Piercing
Slot 5: +20% Titan Ranged Resist, +20% Titan All Elemental Resist, +200% Lightning Storm Damage
(NOTE: These Devs showed the Skills for a Level 50 Lubu; the numbers for the Skill in Slot 5 may be higher when Lubu is at Level 60).

QUESTIONS and ANSWERS:
Question (Q) from a Player: Are you ever going to nerf ANYTHING, or is it always going to be more, more, more?
Answer (A) from a Developer: Um, we are taking a look at the meta at the moment for Troops. Specifically looking at units like Horde, Storm Maidens and Panthers. We will nerf or change things if we feel like we need to.
Q: Is the Thor available in the Altar re-skilled?
A: No, Thor’s Skills have not been changed.
Q: Will the Lantern Event Relics from this week’s Theaters of War work for next week’s Event, as well?
A: Haig: “That’s a really good question. I don’t know. I THINK they will - but everything is subject to change”.
Q: When do Relics Of War expire?
A: They don’t. They will carry over for all future Theaters of War Events, until you spend them.
Q: Do you ever ask serious players what they want or think about upcoming releases?
A: Haig: “Yeah, we do reach out quite a lot to our YouTubers and to a number of players”. (Haig then went on to detail a number of new things coming this year, including new Pantheons, brand new types of Titan Skills “which should effect the game in an interesting way”). (Note from SteelSpine: I get asked similar questions a lot. I can’t speak for anyone else, but I personally have been doing these Recaps for more than a year and a half now - and despite having well over half of the playerbase read them each week I have never heard from anyone within DoT. Ever. At all. In history). :-)
Q: Can we do something for Saint Patrick’s Day? Something with Lucky Charms, maybe?
A: Maybe. We could probably do something like a Free Lucky Bundle or something like that.
Q: How about some Aztec and Mayan God Titans?
A: “You never know what’s going to happen”. “Watch 2020 - we’ve got plans. We’re not going anywhere”.
Q: I heard there are 5* Titans coming.
A: That is NOT TRUE.
Q: Will you reskill Thor?
A: We have no plans for that.
Q: (A question was asked about how Armor affects Spells. The Devs did not read it out loud).
A: Haig: “I don’t know the exact numbers, I’m not a designer here. But I think you are right about Armor Piercing”. (NOTE: Read the OTHER INFORMATION section below for more info about this, and check out the DoT subreddit! VERY important new info there).
Q: When will Assault return?
A: It will return soon. We’re making some changes to make it more fun, and to make the Rewards better.
Q: Please get another Dev on the LiveStream to make it a trio again.
A: We’ll try.

TEASERS and OTHER INFORMATION:
There are three EXCELLENT posts by IAMREALITY on the DoT subreddit right now. The first two relate to Titan XP and the best way to optimize your experience gains from Titan Fusion. A “Lunar Festival” version of the Bone Dreg / Ice Fragment Altars will begin on THURSDAY. Players will be able to collect “Medallions” in the same ways we collected Dregs and Fragments. They will be available until Monday, January 27 (and I’m sure we’ll have a little extra time after that to spend them on the Altars). The top prize this time around will be a re-skilled WUKONG (who’s new Skills will include +2 Shield Spells, Titan Damage X, Titan Armor X, Goliath Armor X, Archer Damage X, +3 Summon Omega Goliath Spells and +3 Summon Omega Archer Spells) for 70 Medallions. More details in next week’s Stream.

Version 1.37 is still being worked on, and should be released sometime around mid February. ALSO: The Devs mentioned again that there will be some sort of change coming to the game that will make older Titans more useful. They wouldn’t give any further details, but they said they think it will happen sometime around April or May. (I would strongly advise players to hold on to older 4* Titans, just in case they become useful when this happens).

It was recently brought to my attention by a player named “mogyi” that there may be a bug with the new 5* Berserker Relic, “Axes of War”. Apparently the “+65% All Troop Damage” in Slot 1 is giving +65% Elemental Damage to Troops, NOT the +65% Base Damage that it should be granting. If true, this would be a significant discrepancy; +65% Damage is much, much less than +65% Base Damage after other Relics are accounted for. I don’t have the new 5* Berserker Relic, so I can’t test this out personally - if a few people can check it out and bring it up to Support and/or let me know so I can ask about it during a Stream that would be awesome.

In the December 18 Recap, I mistakenly said Omega Imps deal +50% Damage; they actually deal -50% Damage compared to regular Imperials. Thanks to Amma P from the § KRAKEN Alliance for pointing out my error. Sorry about that, all!

NEXT TWO WEEKS:
TUESDAY, 21 JANUARY: A 48-hour-long “Relic focused” Individual Leaderboard Event begins, featuring a new Relic: 4* Poison Charms. (No further info given).
THURSDAY, 23 JANUARY: Another Leaderboard Event begins. This one will feature a new Titan, and will be part of the “Lunar Festival”. The only hint given regarding what we can expect was Haig mentioning that this is the Year Of The Rat. Haig also slipped at the end of the Stream and referred to the Titan as “Jing Shu”. (NOTE: Haig also said he THINKS that this Event will use the Lantern Relics from this week’s Theaters of War - but he thinks the Relic Event earlier in the week will use a different Event Relic).

MONDAY, 27 JANUARY: A TITANS UNLEASHED Event begins. (Also known as a TITAN FUSION Event).
TUESDAY, 28 JANUARY: A Norse-themed Relic Festival (Temple Altar Event).
THURSDAY, 30 JANUARY: A Norse Titan Takeover (Temple Altar Event).
FRIDAY, 31 JANUARY: A CONQUEST Event begins. This one will feature a new Titan. (NOTE: No other details given, but I believe we can safely assume that it will be Lightning based, given the Events earlier in the week).
