QUESTIONS and ANSWERS:

Question (Q) from a Player:  What happened to the new Economy Relics for Storm Maidens and Lightning Storm Spells?

Answer (A) from a Developer:  We’re almost done with them, they’re coming very soon - perhaps next week.

Q:  Where are the new Avatars?

A:  They are still coming.  We have a plan for new Avatars which “should involve you, the player” - we’ll talk about it more soon, perhaps during next week’s Stream.

Q:  What has been decided in regards to ARTEMIS?  Will players’ old Artemis’ have her skills changed?  (Note from SteelSpine:  LOTS OF QUESTIONS about this in the chat today).

A:  We have people looking into it, but we don’t have a full solution yet..  we’re still looking into it.  We’ll let you know when we’ve decided what to do about this.  (Note from SteelSpine:  7 days to come up with an answer about Artemis, and THIS is the response?  Wtf?)

Q:  Please extend Archer Titans range.

A:  We probably won’t be able to do that - but there are changes coming to Archers pretty soon.  Stay tuned.

Q:  Any upcoming changes to Troop training times?

A:  Nothing new on that front yet, sorry.

Q:  Will there ever be a Storm Maiden Warp Relic?

A:  Yes, that’s part of the Economy Relic set we’re working on.  Should be done next week.

Q:  Will there be an Event soon that allows us to use old Event Relics?

A:  Yes, that will be happening very soon.  (Note from SteelSpine:  a second Q asked if the Old Relic Event will happen in February.  The Devs would not go on record guaranteeing that it will happen this month, but they said it will happen “soon”).

TEASERS and OTHER INFORMATION:

The Devs *finally* discussed the new feature Matt (and the other behind-the-scenes Devs) have been working on!  It will be a new Event Type called CONQUEST.  The Devs said Conquest would be similar to a “Tower Mode”, where you start at Level 1 and work your way up - gaining better Rewards the further you progress.  They said some of the Levels would be straight-up PVP battles, while others would have features like “Corrupted Troops” - which are much larger, much more powerful and more resilient versions of regular Troops.  They shared a picture of a “Corrupted Militia” unit next to a regular Militia unit, and the Corrupted version appeared to be 2-3x larger than the regular.  The Devs said the new Conquest Mode will premiere “very soon”, and they said they will share more details about it during next week’s Stream.

The Devs teased another “new” game feature coming “soon”.  They were a little light on details, but they said it would be similar to the Titan Brawl from last year and would involve Players voting on what they’d like to see.  More details on that “soon”.  (Note from SteelSpine:  lots of very vague hints about upcoming features this week..  Not a lot of substance).

In case anybody hasn’t noticed, all 4* Titans now have unique descriptions.  Check them out in-game if you’re bored - some of them are pretty interesting.  Fun little change.  :-)

The Devs answered a question from GameRescue regarding the missing Physical and Lightning Resist Rings.  The Devs said both will be added to the game very soon.

At the very end of the Stream the Devs shared an image that said:

NEXT WEEK:

TUESDAY:  There will be a SECOND Chinese New Year Event starting next TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 5 and running until FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 8.  It will feature ZHU BAJIE, the NEW 4* Physical Champion.  His skills include a Unique Skill - Zhu Bajie’s Rake - which grants +30% Titan Critical and 3x Rage Spells.

ZHU BAJIE’s SKILLS:

Slot 1:  +30% Titan Critical, 3x Rage Spells

Slot 2:  Titan Offensive Tier II

Slot 3:  Titan Defensive Tier II

EVENT DETAILS:

This week’s Event is called EPIDEMIC.  It will begin on THURSDAY, JANUARY 24 and run until MONDAY, JANUARY 28.

Titan Details:

This week’s Event features the return of ARTEMIS, the 4* Mossmane Ranger.  Artemis has the unique ability to summon Omega Panthers to the battlefield.  She debuted back on September 27th, 2018, and this is her first return to an Event since then.  In addition, this new version of Artemis has Skills that boost ALL Panthers, not just Omega Panthers (like the original Artemis).  NOTE:  Older versions of Artemis will continue to have her old skill set (with two Skills that boost Omega Panthers) - she will not be changed retroactively to have the new Skills.

UPDATED SKILLS:

Slot 1:  +1 Summon Omega Panther Spell, +40% Panthers Damage

Slot 2:  Panther Defensive Tier II

Slot 3:  +1 Summon Omega Panther Spell, +88% Panthers Armor Piercing

Slot 4:  Panther X Skill

Slot 5:  +1 Summon Omega Panther Spell, +44% Panthers Critical

Note:  Omega Panthers (like all other Omega Troops) are similar to their regular Panther counterparts - but with different stats (some boosted, some reduced).  Omega Panthers start off with an extra 25% CRITICAL and +30% SPEED, but they deal -40% DAMAGE compared to regular Panthers.  Omega Panthers will be summoned at whatever Level your regular Panthers are (so if you have Level 20 Panthers your Omega Panthers will also be Level 20 - just more powerful, and they can be placed anywhere on the battlefield, like a Spell).  Also: Any Skills or Relics that buff regular Panthers also buff Omega Panthers.

Artemis is available for 17k Souls.  (Interesting side note:  The old Artemis was available for 18k Souls the first time around).

SAFIRA, the 4* Poison (Mossmane) Berserker, is also available in this Event.  She has two Panther X Skills (slots 2 and 4) and two Archer X Skills (slots 3 and 5).  You can find more information about Safira at dotdatabase.net .

QUESTIONS and ANSWERS:

Question (Q) from a Player:  Please bring Titan drops back to the Theaters of War (Note from SteelSpine:  YES, PLEASE).

Answer (A) from a Developer:  Yeah, we made that change because we wanted to focus more on Relics and on whatever upcoming Event was happening that week..  We might look into changing that in the future, but I don’t think we’ll change it.

Q:  (another “please increase Relic storage space above 500” question, like every week)

A:  (another “we can’t, it will make the game crash” response, like every week)  :-)

Q:  Will we see more frequent Theaters of War Events in the future?

A:  Yes, we’ll probably have a Theaters of War Event more often in the near future.  The next 2-3 should be the same as the last few, but after that we may make some changes..

Q:  Can we get the ability to upgrade more than one Troop or Spell at a time?  (Note from SteelSpine:  this gets asked almost as often as the Relic Storage question).

A:  Not yet, but we might do something like that in the future.

Q:  Was Kronos the last Greek God?

A:  No, the Gods have not ended.  More to come.

Q:  What’s the point of releasing a new Titan if, just a few months later, you’ll release a new version with better skills?  (Note from SteelSpine:  This obviously has to do with Artemis - and I’m frankly surprised the Devs took the question).

A:  Well, uh, yeah, that is a good question.  Um.  Well, obviously, over time the meta changes in the game, and the game is actually quite complicated.  Sometimes we’ll see that something new is needed, and we’re constantly updating it to make the game better.  So that’s why we do it.  (Hell of an answer there, guys.  Haha)

Q:  Will 2* Titans ever be removed from the Epic Token Altar?

A:  Uhm, yeah, we’re actually looking into that.  We’d like to make some changes to the Epic Altar in the near future.  Stay tuned on that.

(Note from SteelSpine:  The Devs at this point in the Stream - Dom in particular at first, but Quiff chimed in soon thereafter - mentioned that there were a lot of comments about the old/existing Artemis Titans not having their Skills changed.  Seems like a LOT OF PLAYERS were really pissed off during the LiveStream about Artemis getting newly updated Skills.  The Devs both promised to bring it up to the development team - I think they got the picture.  Hopefully they’ll do something about it).

Q:  Can you do something about Troops getting stuck in map obstacles?

A:  We do our best to fix those things as we see them - if you know of a particular spot where Troops are getting stuck, please tell us via the in game Support and include a screenshot if possible.  We’re also working on the “Titan circling” issue - hopefully we’ll get that fixed, as well.

Q:  When will we see the “Hogs of War” (Boar Titans) return?

A:  (Devs look at each other) - The Hog and Boar Titans will be returning sooner than you may think.

Q:  Any chance we could get a permanent reduction in Troop training times?

A:  We are actually working on some Troop changes right now, but we can’t go into them at the moment.

Q:  Anything special happening on Valentine’s Day?

A:  “Yes, actually.  Well, not particularly revolving around the Valentine’s Day holiday - but we do have something special planned for that day”.

TEASERS and OTHER INFORMATION:

Matt, one of the Dev regulars from the LiveStream, was not on the Stream today.  The Devs said that he is working hard trying to iron the bugs out of the “new feature” he has been working on, which is set to debut soon.  Looks like whatever it is, it’s in the final stages of development.

The Devs mentioned that the newest version of DoT, v1.29, is available for download across all devices now.  They recommended that everybody make sure they have downloaded it because there are “new features coming in the very near future” that will require the update.

The new Rewards for Player Levels (which the Devs have been experimenting with over the past few weeks) have been turned OFF for now, and all Player Level Rewards have reverted to the original Rewards (for the time being).  The Devs said they discovered some “issues” with the new Rewards, and they want to make sure everything is working properly before releasing them to the entire community.

The old “Daily Altar” in the Temple has been replaced by the new “Bonus Altar”.  Instead of being a once-per-day pull, you can now take a shot at this Altar every eight hours (for total of three times per day).  The Devs also said the drop pool for this new Altar is much improved from the old “Daily Altar”, with much better rewards available.

Lots of new features have been released for first-time players.  No further details as to what those features look like, but you can create a new account and find out if you’re bored enough.  :-)

NEXT WEEK:

MONDAY:  There will be a “Spoils of War” Event, featuring guaranteed 3x battle drops from each successful attack.

TUESDAY:  a “very special” Temple Event.  No further details about what makes it special..  other than that it’s “pretty cool” and there will be “some Titans you wouldn’t expect to be involved in a Temple Event”.  Dom the Dev said “Yes, make sure you guys log in next Tuesday to check it out.  It surprised me when I saw the details.  I was like, what?  Why are we doing this?”.

ALSO:  NEXT WEEK (either Wednesday or Thursday - probably Thursday, but the Devs weren’t sure) will begin the Chinese New Year festivities.  Not much info about what we can expect, but the Devs did said there will be “quite a few” surprises - and the festivities will stretch for two weeks.

This week’s Event is called KEEPER OF TIME.  It will begin on WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 16 and run until MONDAY, JANUARY 21.

This week’s Event features KRONOS, the 4* Earth Paladin. Kronos has the unique ability to summon groups of Omega Goliaths to the battlefield.  Each group of Omega Goliaths will have FOUR Omega Goliaths.  The Omega Goliaths you Summon will be the same Level (and have the same Stats) as your regular Goliaths - but will also have +80% more Health, +30% more Speed, and a reduction to their Armor.  Any Relics that boost the Stats of regular Goliaths also boost the Stats of Omega Goliaths.

QUESTIONS and ANSWERS:

Question (Q) from a Player:  When will the next Titan Fusion Event be?

Answer (A) from a Developer:  The next Fusion Event will begin THIS MONDAY, January 21.  It should start somewhere around 3:00 p.m. (15:00) GMT.

Q:  Any changes to Garrison Maps coming soon?

A:  We’re still working on it.

Q:  Can we get a boost to the Titan Experience gained from the Titan Altars and Titan Monuments?  With the new Titan XP Relics, the XP values are just way too low at the Altars.

A:  We are looking into doing something like this, yes.

Q:  When will the new Player Level Up Rewards go live to all Players?

A:  We’re still testing out some stuff with this, so we can’t say for sure when it will roll out to all Players.

Q:  Can you please reintroduce Poseidon again soon?

A:  Yes, he will be available again at some point - and it might be soon.

Q:  Can we get another “Spoils of War” (guaranteed 3x Battle drops) Event soon?

A:  Yes, we plan on doing one very soon - within the next few weeks.

Q:  Can we please get a boost to Archers?  They need to be made stronger.

A:  We might be doing something with Archers soon.  Stay tuned!

Q:  Can you change Artemis to summon five Panthers instead of three?

A:  No, I don’t think so.  Artemis is already quite powerful - we don’t think a change needs to be made there.

Q:  When will the Chinese New Year Event begin?

A:  When Chinese New Year takes place in real life.  (Note from SteelSpine:  Chinese New Year is on February 5th this year.  That’s a Tuesday, so if I had to guess I would say we will see this year’s Chinese New Year Event begin that week).

Q:  When will we see Artemis return?

A:  “Maybe soon”.  “That will happen a lot sooner than you think!”

Q:  How can older players get ahold of Hercules?

A:  Hercules is a unique 3* Titan that’s currently only available to new players.  But I’m sure he’ll be made available to everyone else at some point.

Q:  Any chance for a Relic-only Event?  Where only Relics are available?

A:  Yes, we’re looking into doing something like this in the future.  Perhaps something similar to the Boot Camp Event?  Maybe after the new Relic Forging XP Relics are introduced.

Q:  Any chance you could reduce the time it takes to refresh your Portal Stones?

A:  No, we aren’t planning on changing this right now.  Maybe in the future, though.

Q:  Will Valorn ever be made available again?

A:  We might bring Valorn back for another Event sometime in the future.  He is wildly popular.

Q:  Will Titan drops return to Theaters of War?

A:  (Note from SteelSpine:  The Devs did not answer this.  At all.  They moved on to another topic.  Pretty disappointing..  I have been hoping they would answer this question for a while now).

TEASERS and OTHER INFORMATION:

The newest update for DoT is now LIVE for both Apple Devices and Android Devices.  If you haven’t downloaded it yet, check your App Store for the latest version.  It includes:

New 2* Berserker Titan added to the drop pool (and will be added to the Titan Monument drop pool this week).

Battle Log will now tell you which Titan an attacker used when attacking your Lands and Garrison.

New loading screens.

New Avatar pictures coming very soon (within the week, most likely).

New Storm Maiden and Lightning Storm “Economy Relics” (for boosting production time or reducing costs at the Barracks and Spell Forge).

New layout for Event Reward screens (apparently this has something to do with a new upcoming Event type).

The Devs said they are looking into reducing the Portal Stone cost for attacking the Titan Monuments and Titan Altars.  They also said they are looking into possibly doing something similar to the Theaters of War (which take place at the Titan Altars), but which would take place at the Monuments instead.  Stay tuned.

Matt, the Dev who has been working on a new game feature for quite a while now, was asked if he could tell us anything about the new feature (which is supposed to debut very soon).  At first he said he couldn’t give us any details - but then he said it would have something to do with “other Levels you could attain”.  I have NO idea what that means - but it sounds like it will be a new Level system, kind of like how your Castle Level is separate from your Player Level and Titan Levels.  (Note from SteelSpine:  I’m just theorycrafting here, but maybe it’s a “Forging Level” that goes up depending on how many Relics you have forged?  Or something like that?  Whatever it is, it sounds new and different - which, in my opinion, is *exactly* what DoT needs right now).

The Devs said in the future they will stick with the current formula for Events, where an older Titan that hasn’t been available for a while is available in the weekly Event (like Hades in this week’s Event), thereby giving you two 4* Titans - one old, one new - if you complete the Event.
